It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Patrick Stirling-Aird of Kippenross.
His departure came suddenly, but his warmth, kindness and quiet strength have left a lasting mark on everyone who had the privilege to know him.
Patrick was not only the guardian of the history that inspired the Jane Stirling Project. He was also one of its most ardent supporters, a committed partner who, in time, became our greatly-valued friend. His encouragement, wisdom and unfailing hospitality shaped the spirit of our work from the very beginning. Our conversations with him at Kippenross, including those just a few weeks ago, will remain among our most cherished memories.
Our thoughts and heartfelt sympathies are with Susan Stirling-Aird, Lucinda Stirling-Aird and the whole Stirling-Aird family at this time of great sorrow.
May he rest in peace, and may his light endure in the history he loved and in the people he inspired.
